Dr. Gerrit Anton de Waal

PhD in Innovation Management.

Master of Business Leadership.

MSc Physics.

BSc (HONS) Physics.

BSc Physics and Applied Mathematics.

Gerrit has been teaching and mentoring innovators and corporate entrepreneurs for the past 15 years at tertiary educational institutions in New Zealand and Australia, which include Unitec (NZ), Swinburne University and RMIT University. Prior to that, he worked as a research scientist and project leader in high-tech engineering environments that engaged extensively in corporate venturing in South Africa and Malaysia, and business consulting in New Zealand. Gerrit is an expert in Design Thinking and The Lean Start-up methodologies that increasingly find application in corporate Australia. Apart from teaching and consulting in said disciplines, Gerrit is also a passionate researcher in the area of innovation management. He has numerous journal publications and conference best-paper awards and collaborates extensively with a network of academics and practitioners that span many countries.
